Rokok Ternyata Menyimpan Partikel Dengan Radiasi Berbahaya

Rokok memang berbahaya bagi kesehatan. Rokok dapat menyebabkan berbagai masalah, antara lain kelainan pada janin, kanker, mengandung berbagai racun dan lain-lain. Namun apakah anda tahu bahwa rokok ternyata juga mengandung radiasi?
Fakta ini adalah informasi yang dilindungi oleh perusahaan rokok selama hampir 40 tahun. Lalu darimana sumber radiasi ini berasal? Radiasi tersebut berasal dari sebuah bahan yang bernama Polonium-210. Partikel ini dapat memancarkan radiasi yang sangat berbahaya yang disebut partikel alpha. Selanjutnya, jika anda sedang merokok, partikel ini akan bersinergi dengan unsur karsinogen lainnya yang akan mempercepat terbentuknya sel kanker dalam tubuh.
Sumber berita ABC News mengatakan bahwa pihak perusahaan rokok telah mengetahui fakta ini sejak tahun 1960. Radiasi dalam rokok ini, dikatakan akan berdampak kepada para perokok setelah masa 20 tahun.
Lalu kenapa para perusahaan tersebut tetap menggunakan polonium-210. Alasannya adalah karena hal tersebut dapat mempengaruhi kandungan nikotin dalam rokok, yang tentu saja akan mengurangi ‘kualitas’ sebuah rokok.
